Last one this year.....maybe

Well here we stand at the threshold of a brand new year. 2007 is only 14 hours away or so. I have had a pretty good year all in all I guess. I have managed to lose about 45 pounds and have maintained the same weight for about 6 months now. As soon as it gets warmer I am hoping that weight will come on down another 15 pounds or so and be right at the 200 lb mark. I am much more fit than I was this time last year. I have not gotten what I wanted accomplished on my land as far as getting a house built but I am not far aay from starting that now. I have made some new friends through reading your blogs. All in all I would have to give the year '06 a grade of A- for myself.
-----------------
I have gotten a few emails the last few days from a friend and last night she called and we chatted for a long time. I had bumped into her a few weeks ago as I was walking in to watch Ashley play basketball......ok actually bumped into her daughter first as she came up hugging me.....all I could see was the top of her head and I had no idea who she was....looking around I see her mom sitting there laughing at my bewilderment. Anyway I will not go into details but it amazes me what some people will put up with during the dating process and still keep going. I have never actually met this guy she is dating but pretty much everything I "predicted" about him has come to pass. He is a player and I continually tell this young lady she could do better, much better and she continues. I finally told her that I was done with telling her anything regarding him and that when he finally opens her eyes to call me I will be there for her to talk to. I am not sure if thats what last nights call was but I think she has decided that I just might be right. Please think about this friend for me and say a prayer for her that she does not continue to waste her life on this "man". I know thats an odd request. Deal with it :P
--------------
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year planned. I have no idea what or where mine will be spent....might go out to my land and sit around a campfire and shoot some fireworks..... no telling where I might end up haha. I will close this out by cutting and pasting a portion from one of my favorite sites.. wikipedia.com.

Auld Lang Syne" is usually sung each year on New Year's Eve (Hogmanay in Scotland) in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and English speaking Canada at midnight and signifies the start of a new year. In the United Kingdom, it is played at the close of the annual Congress (conference) of the Trades Union Congress. Also, in many Burns Clubs, it is sung to end the Burns supper.

It is used as a graduation song and a funeral song in Taiwan, symbolizing an end or a goodbye. In Japan, too, it is used in graduation, and many stores play it to usher customers out at the end of a business day. Before the composition of Aegukga, the lyrics of Korea’s national anthem were sung to the tune of this song. In the Indian Armed Forces the band plays this song during the passing out parade of the recruits.

In the Philippines, it is well known and sung at celebrations like graduations, New Year and Christmas Day. Also, before 1972, it was the tune for the Gaumii salaam anthem of The Maldives (with the current words), In Thailand, it is use for Samakkkhi Chumnum (Together in unity), sung after sports.

In Portugal, France, Spain, Greece and Germany this song is used to mark a farewell. It is also used in the Scout movement for the same purpose, but with lyrics that are a little different.

It has also been used on other occasions as a farewell. One occasion that falls in this category was in October 2000, when the body of former Canadian prime minister Pierre Trudeau left Parliament Hill in Ottawa for the last time, going to Montreal for the state funeral.

The song is also the official corps song for the Kilties drum and bugle corps.

Bring it 2007!!!!

For you, kissing is all about feeling the romance

It's pretty common for kisses to sweep you off your feet

Sandi the manic posted this over on her blog so since I seldom play along (and had the time) I decided I would do a few of these. Noone who reads this will be able to prove or disprove one way or the other....yet anyway haha This next one is eerily correct in soooo many ways.....not sure about one aspect ..anyone care to guess which one I am questioning?

"Until hell freezes over".....

My good friend Shala shared this on myspace and I thought I would share with you here.

HELL EXPLAINED BY A CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law
(gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls
enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase
until all Hell breaks loose.
2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in
Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes
over.

So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A".

Fullfilling a Tag, daughters job and Merry Christmas wishes

I was tagged weeks ago by Sandy and again by Bellarosa aka Becca. I guess I have been just a bit lazy so I thought now would be a good time to catch up. With my math skills I figure since I was tagged twice that means I only need to choose 3 people and not 6 sooooo...

This is how it works:Each player of this game starts with the "6 weird things about you". In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. People who get tagged need to write a blog post of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says “you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

1. I am one of those "weirdos" who actually enjoy working out most times. I love the feeling of the "afterglow" of a workout and knowing that while I am just sitting there recuperating I am burning more and more calories.

2. I can sleep in broad daylight or in complete darkness but only able to sleep in a car if I am behind the wheel. (scary huh?)

3. I like plants. My mom has such a green thumb I can usually pick out more different kinds of flowers than most women can. Don't judge ;)

4. I cringe most when someone drags their teeth on a fork. That is the most annoying sound and if I accidently do it I will almost gag from the cringing I do.

5. I always break the rules on these things so you only get FIVE from me.

6. See number 5
-----------------------------------
Ok now to the headlines......My daughter has a job!!! I have not had a chance to talk to her yet but her mom told me that she started working at Cici's Pizza last week. I am feeling so old right now it is pathetic haha. She will be 17 in June. Man where did the time go?
--------------
Things are going great still with the new g/f Sandra. Theres been some bumps in the road but all in all I would have to say things are still going quite smoothly. The majority of the bumps revolve around schedule problems with me working 3rd shift and her working days (and evenings a few days a week). Nothing we cant learn to work with though.

We are off to the beautiful east Texas town of Tyler on Saturday to spend it with her Aunt and Uncle and who knows I might even ride on down to visit my good friends Russell and Dusty.....I am sure many of you long time readers remember hearing about Dusty right? haha I am not sure the link will work but heres their dog Butters on youtube.com enjoying a beer ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI_zBLvuqMw

Anyway now to the tagging. I think I will tag Monica , Becca ,and Crimson and if you have already done it , I apologize.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. I am sure I will post again before then though haha.

Back again for HNT (#18 for me)

OK OK I have been neglecting this sector of my life lately. Seems a relationship takes mucho time especially when the two parties work different schedules. Anyway this weeks (late) HNT is me showing off my new workout shirt (very snug btw) and also proving that I have indeed been "turning my back" to this medium. Well I will not promise I am "back" nor will I tell you I will update at any certain time. I DO need to get to the matter of a couple of "tags" that were placed on me courtesy of Sandi and also Bellarosa tagged me for the same one. I will get to those tomorrow maybe haha. Anyway before anyone goes to pointing it out....yes there is JUST a bit of skin showing in the pic sooooooooooo guess if I AM actually HALF nekkid in the pic or just posing for the back shot haha.

Os asked us for three Christmas wishes.....here goes

I wish my good friend Robyn the most wonderful Christmas imaginable and that she can find comfort in knowing her mom is in such comfort compared to what she was dealing with on Earth and YES Robyn I do think she looks in on you and Mik.....a lot more than you sense.

I would like to send a special wish out to a non blogger AND someone who has never read my blog. Her name is Kathy and she lives in Amarillo TX. Kathy was my first girlfriend and since that time has really had a rough life. She is battling her drug addictions and also battling for her life. I know just a little over a year ago she stopped in to visit and she weighed less than 100 lbs. She is 5'6 or so. Please join in sending out a very special Christmas wish for strength for this wonderful young lady.

Lastly I would like to send out a special wish to my friend Lee Ann . If ever anyone was put on Earth to bring cheer and good will I think it was this awesome lady. Stop by and visit her anytime and come away knowing you read something from a TRUE ANGEL. Thanks for always making the day brighter sweetness!!

Now if you are wondering why in the world these crazy bloggers share various stages of nekkidness with the world click the little link in my sidebar and it opens to the wonderful world of Os and it will become more clear.
