Please give me your opinion.....
The question is am I shallow for thinking this way?
I dislike tattoos and body piercings (ears are ok I guess) and I have this friend whom I would love to date regularly and she recently got her nose pierced. Is it shallow for me to not really want to date her just cause of this now? She has also mentioned more tattoos. Maybe I am overreacting to this. Just looking across at metal hanging out of a persons body while dining across from them is just a major turnoff. I know its a tiny piece of metal. Maybe I am too picky and maybe thats why I remain single.

Hey Brad! I couldn't help but come over real quick to check on your shop progress.
They are moving quickly with my house now. They delivered the drywall around 7 this morning and by 8:30 the hangers were there. They completed all the ceilings today and will more than likely finish the walls tomorrow then the mudding starts. I will be posting pics tomorrow night so you can view them late tomorrow night or Wednesday moring.

well.. everyone has an opinion on piercings and tats...IF it turns you off..then you can't help that.
Ifit makes a big deal to you...you can't change that.

I agree with Sandi, that everyone has their own opinion. I do believe that some people can get a bit carried away with tattoos and piercings. But I also believe that personality is more important than appearance.
You should always be true to your beliefs and be honest with your feelings.

Are you shallow for thinking that way?? In my opinion...yes!! Do you judge books by their covers, too?
Like Sandi and Christie said....everyone is entitled to their opinions. But I like to think that people judge by personality more so than whether or not they have a piece of metal in their nose or somewhere. If it bugs you..then you are best not to date her because you will never get over it.
I have to say, Brad, that this surprises me a little bit about you. But moreso, I pose this question to YOU.....does it make my clean cut, beautiful daughter, who has a love of God and a heart of gold......any less of a person because she has her belly AND her nose pierced?? Yeah. Careful..you never know who you will offend.
I have just read my comments and I am here to comment on your dilemma.
If you are bothered by the tats and piercings then I would say don't date her because it would always be an issue between you two.
I have never liked looking at tats and all kinds of piercings myself but like you I don't judge people because of them either, I just prefer not to do that to my body. I have four piercings, two earring holes in each ear and that is it and all I will ever have.
My personal opinion is that tats and all sorts of piercings is tacky looking, for me anyways. Some of the best people I know have both but I have never dated anyone with them.

I think that if you can't over look the piercing, if it's not too obtrusive, that you may miss out on something. I myself personally don't like them on guys but I did date one for 6 months that had multiple piercings on one of his ears. I am SO greatful that I was able to see past that because even though it didn't work out (he moved to another state), I have a terrific friend that I will always love. I myself have tattoos and it's just a self expression kind of thing I guess. But we are all different and we know our likes and dislikes...only you know what is best for you.
