Ready for spring break

I am soooo ready to head south for spring break! Will get to see my cousins near San Antonio hopefully, and just generally , hang out for lack of a term, in the hill country. I will probably hike up enchanted rock again and may explore some other hiking venues. If the weather appears to look promising i might just take the bike but that will be last minute decision. I am soon to be adding some accesories to it such as different exhaust, xm radio, and a new Corbin heated seat and maybe a smuggler case for the back. :)
I have even thought about going Kawasaki or Monster Energy green on the bike......ideas?

Loving life

Had another great Sunday with my Cross Timbers family. Attended the early service (9:30) then worked with my 4th and 5th graders in the 11:30 service.....ok ok Claire did most of the work in the small group setting but it was a good morning for sure. Went to Buckle (that place will break my account if im not careful) and got a few new shirts, then headed back to Highland Village for a burger from Red Robin. I must say the Sauteed shroom burger is my favorite of all i have tried so far. I then headed back towards Argyle on some back roads looking at the beautiful houses and mini ranches. I must admit I have been looking at for sale signs more and more lately when I head down that way. Made it back to church around 4:15 and visited with Ashley for a little bit before the crowd slowly started rolling in. Its such a pleasure to be able to greet and hand out programs in the evening service. Get to see a lot of people i normally would not see and starting to get to know a few more of them!

I had another great weekend with my church family. Brother Toby was out but Brother Kuykendall brought a very good message in his absence. Really liking the love never fails series. My 11am kids in "The Loft" seemed extra hyper but I had a blast with them. Got the whole room in trouble for suggesting my groups make paper airplanes and flying them......sorry guys and girls haha. Found out one of the boys dad is a former world series MVP John Wetteland. That was pretty neat seeing someone I used to watch pitch come pick their kids up. I stuck around and greeted in the evening service and had a nice chat with Jo and Lisa. I feel between the Loft kids and meeting people as a greeter is really making me feel more connected with the church.

I have been visiting a Christian based counselor once a week and she has been helping me learn more about why I do some of the things I do. The first step is admitting there's a problem and I am seeing where that problem is based a lot now thanks to the briggs/myers test I took. I see that my actions and reactions are not just haopenstance, that its just part of my personality and I have to work on certain aspects. One of the main things I learned is I don't have to always be right. I also know that my slowness to answer questions sometimes is not a problem its just how I process and deliver.

Talking with God recently.....

As i have been spending more and more time talking with God recently, he brought me to a profound (to me) conclusion. I realized just recently what true love really is. I recently saw an ex girlfriend (whom i really love) with her new boyfriend and her kids and realized its similar to the love God has for us. Its ok for me to still love her and not be upset that she does not love me back the way I want. I would love for the love to be returned but it does not diminish my feelings for her if she does not feel the same as I do. This is how God gets treated all the time by all of us. He loves us more than we deserve yet He sees us with other "loves" whether its in human form, material possesions or whatever. These things we can "love" and yet God still loves us the same. I am so blessed to be living closer to God than I ever have before and so nice to have a daily walk and talk with Him. He has shown me so much already and I'm sure its just the tip of the iceberg. I cannot wait to see where He leads me with the people at Cross Timbers as I try to figure out where and when I will be serving Him there.

First Sunday with CTKids

This past Sunday was my first day volunteering with CTkids and it went pretty good. Its a neat age to work with (4th and 5th graders) and i feel it will be really rewarding. The volunteers are really nice and the kids are very full of energy. I also was asked if i wanted to be a greeter for the evening service so i went ahead and stayed around for that. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve and meet new people.

Toby had an amazing service and message this week to kick off Love Never Fails series and looking forward to hearing more this coming weekend!
