Horoscope for the day

Seems the old horoscope bug bit me again and I thought I would post this. I know I do not have as many interested readers as before but oh well maybe someone will find this interesting.
-----------------
Some of your old habits are getting a bit too old -- and they're not fitting into your lifestyle very well right now. Today your growing pains will start to make the changes you need to make clear to you. Adjusting your behavior is never easy, but if you look at the big picture and give yourself some small, attainable goals, it won't be as challenging as you fear. You need to focus on your personal growth as much as you can -- make yourself your top priority
-----------------
Definitely some good advice there I think....thanks astrology.com

Gun Update number 129084

Finally got my favorite friend the cast removed today and got the oh so great news I don't go back to see Dr Schnieder for almost 3 weeks. I said cool , now give me my pass to return to regular work and I will be happy......I don't get THAT treasured piece of paper until my next visit with the doctor which is August 17th. I had the cast on from July 10th until today and the original injury occured at the end of May. You MIGHT be able to sense a bit of frustration here? If not I can sure lay it on a bit thicker. Only GOOD side of it is now I can go outside and sweat without having to worry about how much worse the cast will stink when I am done. I am not to lift more than 5 lbs with the left arm.......not much I can do that would fit that criteria but I am sure I will find something. I do have plenty of sanding and polishing to do on some truck parts that I have not been able to do much of lately. I can go outside after the noon hour now and actually stay outside. Anyway enough griping about THAT subject.

Had a AWESOME visit with Russ and Dusty this weekend. Cory and Steph also made it up from Tyler Saturday for the car show and racing. We were at the dragstrip until nearly 2 am Sunday morning and hung out at the motel until around 3:30 am. I came home (all of 4 or 5 blocks) and slept a little and got up and had lunch with all of them before they left on their way back to Tyler. My friend James and Kendra and their kids also showed up to eat with us. Kendra is my nurse practitioner btw and she got a lot of info regarding my feelings on her referral to Dr Schneider......I know it was not her fault for HIS lack of intelligence and do not blame her a bit. I just wanted to make sure she knows to refer me to someone else if the need ever arises in the future. I have not gotten any pics from Dusty yet from this weekend but will be sure to share some when she does get time to email them. I know Russ took a few of she and I together. It was a very sparce turnout for the car show this year too. Shows what a lack of advertising an event can do to it as the number of entries was nearly half what it has been in the past.

Not much else going on. Guess I will go get some more miles in while it is still above 100 outside. That and working on getting my arm slowly worked back into shape. Hard to do a lot when I have a limit of 5 lbs. right?

Have a great evening everyone!!

Almost forgot.......

Good friend of mine named Nessa has just started blogging. She only has two days down so far but stop by and show her some love or lurve as some people call it. She has been a special person to for many years and I am sure if she will let herself do it will have a lot of good posts in the future. Now let me see if I can remember how to add a link to my blogroll lol.

Take care everyone!!
Brad

why?

Why do people pay good money to see a movie and then spend their time text messaging someone? Just curious.

Why is it that someone asks for advice continuosly and then upon receiving advice decides to continue as they have been doing? Just curious

Why do people not respond to messages in IM but then want to get all "huffy" when someone does not respond to them? Just curious

Why do some people log into their Yahoo accounts and see their messages but do not feel the need to reply? Just curious

Just a few questions that are kinda fresh on my mind. I understand that some people have others who have access to their Yahoo accounts and it might not have even been the person for whom the message was sent that was logged on.
---------------------------
Enough pet peeves how about some good news? Dusty and Russell should be here within a few hours....maybe around 7 pmish or a bit after tonight. Had a great trip to Garland with Brian and a friend of his (Brandon I think it was) and made a late lunch stop in at Bone Daddy's and I must say Hooters is now one of my SECOND favorite places to go eat and hang out with the guys. Go to the site and I am sure you might just see why. The girls are hotter than Hooters girls and more friendly to boot. The fun is even edible and actually quite good. Brandon (I think) had whats called Violated Chicken which is a whole chicken with a can of Busch beer ummmmm for stuffing lets just say. I had a HUGE cheeseburger with some awesome fries and onion rings and I think Brian had a chopped barBq sandwich. Lets just say I will be back to enjoy this atmosphere again soon. I do have a birthday coming up in just over a month ;)

Anyway I am off to finish up some last minute things before they arrive and to stock back up on Monster Energy drink.

Hope everyone has a great weekend !!!!!!!

No HNT for me this week......

I know you are thinking..."you've been off work for nearly 3 weeks and you still cannot find time for ONE pic?" Its not really that I have not had time but just not feeling real ....sharing I guess is a good word right now. Its been a bit of a rollercoaster ride the last few weeks. I admit I love rollercoasters and adrenalin but not this type of coaster. Anyway I will try to get out of the funk and get back to HNT'ing next week.

------------------------------
Sitting here waiting on my friend Brian to come by so we can load up a car I sold to a guy in Garland (near Dallas) and deliver it. Truck is still for sale of course and have had a lot of people looking at it on the www.mautofied.com site but so far no takers. I was offered a really nice 99 Xtreme s10 in trade for it and it IS black but I had to pass. Does not get me any closer to where I am aiming right now.
-------------------------------
Not much else going on other than cleaning up some before Dusty and Russell arrive tomorrow evening. Another good car weekend in store hopefully with car show at the civic center on Saturday and later on Saturday be watching some good street car racing (hopefully) out at Paris Drag Strip. I am sure there will be some alcohol involved along the way but not for me this weekend. Maybe one or two but nothing close to the last time the Tyler crew came to Paris lol.

I would like to share a few quotes I found online. I cannot "pretty them up" like Becca does but the beauty is truly in the words in these quotes. Enjoy

--------------------------
The heart, like the grape, is prone to delivering its harvest in the same moment it appears to be crushed.

-Roger Houseden
--------------------------
Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things only hoped for.

-Epicurus

and one of my favorites........

Hope everyone has a great weekend coming up and get out there and LIVE. Its way better than the alternative

Towers with cowboy hats, truck for sale, and disabilities

Finally actually put my truck up for sale. I know most of the people who do read this blog (both of ya) know little about custom trucks so I won't bore y'all with all the lowdown on all the special features of the truck. I did, though, take a few new pics of it out by the civic center and yes thats a miniature Paris Texas version of the famous Eiffel tower complete with a bright red cowboy hat on top of it. We ARE a distinguised bunch of Texans don't you think?

Already had a few calls although technically the only advertising I have done is get vinyl lettering put on the windshield (for sale signs and shoe polish looks so tacky to me ). I have also listed on a few truck forums I go to and had the guy who did my air ride contact me about possibly buying it as he just got his check from insurance for totalling out his police edition Tahoe. The check was not quite enough to buy my truck though lol
------------------------------------
Had both a very bad day yesterday and a great day and the two intertwined themselves as they so often do right? Odd how just hearing from someone you had lost contact with for a short time can completely turn your day around. Got a busy day planned for tomorrow...might not even have time to work our nap in Lee Ann but we will see ;) Headed out to the land about 5am to start the sprinklers and to begin using the clay bar on the Yukon and waxing it. Hopefully it won't be needing it as badly as the white truck did a week or so ago. It being black though every little bad spot will show up of course. Anyway just got done with a 5 mile walk making 7 miles for the day woohooo. ...time to hit the shower now. Can someone soap me up? I am so disabled even though some don't consider a cast on ones arm to be disabling...I guess its all in the definition right? :P

Ciao

So I have been a bit lazy.......

Seems its been all of 4 days since I last posted a blog.....I have been busy...OK I haven't but didn't know if anyone would notice or not lol. Not much of anything going on......some record heat for the last few weeks (got this cast on just in time to enjoy THAT) I am hoping by this time next Monday afternoon I will be released from the confines of this piece of fiberglass and cotton and will be getting an afternoon nap before I head back to work. I honestly have been so damn bored the past two weeks. I have walked quite a few miles in the wee morning hours .....35.5 miles just last week and already 12 miles this week lol. I am at least keeping the weight steady even though I am eating more than normal.

I have gotten a bit of work done around my land and will be talking to the bank in a few weeks about a loan to build a shop with a 1 bedroom apartment to the side as a temporary residence and future "lounge/hangout area" for the shop. Hopefully by the end of August I can have something ready to move into and start saving the rent money I have been paying so I can begin building the house by this time next year maybe. Kind of a step back in order to go forward but it happens like that sometimes. Sometimes you can't see the goal for rushing so fast toward it....gotta back up and get the big picture and see what path will lead you there the easiest and less troubled way.

Ok time for my afternoon nap now......you working type people enjoy.....I hopefully will be rejoining you in a week.

Ciao

A week from Dusty and 2nd annual Texas Redneck games

One of my all time favorite friends is coming back to Paris next Friday night....shes even bringing her husband Russell again but thats cool... haha. Dusty and Russell will be back in town for a local car show on Saturday morning at the civic center and then some good old fashioned drag racing out at famous (infamous) Paris Drag Strip.

She also sent me this link to another event coming up in a few weeks that IF I had been working all this time and not being home with a cast on my arm could have went to. Thats right its almost time for the 2nd annual Texas Redneck Games complete with starter toss, spam eating contest, mattress throw, and so much more. I will definitely be marking this one down on my calendar for next year. Nothing like a campground full of drunk rednecks with four wheel drives and four wheelers in the middle of an off road park. Anyone want to join me next August for some tent camping in August in cool east Texas? Shouldn't be much over low 80s at night with highs around 100-105 most times lol. I am sure Robyn would bring her flock on down right Robyn? lol

Scars HNT #10

Everyone has scars.....some emotional, some physical. I have no pics to share at this time of the emotional scars but heres a few physical scars from I am guessing about 1992ish. Details of what happened that night are still a bit fuzzy and the police report I read (but no longer have a copy of lol) really did not shed much light on it either. I know there had been MUCH alcohol involved......I used to binge drink a lot and if you read the blog a few weeks ago think I still do.....thats maybe once a year anymore.... I remember driving through the apartment complex.....saw a guy of middle eastern descent........comments were exchanged .....(this was not long at all after Desert Storm so you can imagine coming from a drunk Texan what might have been said)......This guy decides to run at the truck.....so I oblige him in my courteous Texan way.....its hot here...no need in running further than you have to right? I get out of the truck and right about the time he gets there I notice he is not real happy and neither are his friends......where the hell did they come from lol. ......not only did I fail to see the friends, I also failed to see the shard of beer bottle one of the guys had in his hand.......I felt something warm on my arm but really paid it no mind......turned out to be blood. OK now I am PISSED OFF.....they made me bleed on my new shirt lol. This is when things start to get a bit blurrier.....I recall hearing some yelling and then sirens and several swings later the three of these.....camel jockeys were running off. I turn around and there are a few police cars pulling in. I proceed to tell them "its ok I ran them back into their apartments and if they would kindly move their patrol cars I need to get out of here and get this cut on my arm washed out".......the kind officer says something to the effect that "its the cut on your neck that he was concerned with".......I look down at my white shirt and it's no longer white but completely soaked in blood. Now I try to tell them I need to drive myself to the hospital .....they didn't let me......I dont even recall the ambulance getting there cause I was too busy recounting the fight (or my knowledge of it at the time) to the officers. They asked if I wanted to file charges. Nope, I would be judge, jury and executioner all in one ( I do recall THIS line from the police report lol) I then proceed over to the Mustang convertible of one of the guys who jumped me and proceed to wipe blood on the white convertible top. The cops while laughing about it told me I really shouldn't be doing that. Anyway we get to the ER somehow. I am still playfully drunk and proceed to attempt to help the kind nurses anyway I can. This is not limited to grabbing their asses or even trying to help them put the stitches in my throat. They strap me down to the bed....now in the back of my mind I pictured a dominatrix coming in...whips snapping the silence....nope just the same ole nurses finishing up the stitches. I cannot say the drinking lessened any after this event but I will say I never saw the Mustang convertible around town after that and believe me I was looking. As stated before I seldom drink anymore, but at this time in my life (I am thinking it was 1992 or so.....) it was not a surprise to me to wake up in a parking lot somewhere sweating my hungover butt off as the midday sun shone through the window. I have even awakened in a suburb of Dallas a few times after a night out drinking. Sad to have to ask someone where you are BTW Dallas is about 100 miles from Paris just to give you an idea of my drunken driving. I am not bragging about it by any means and dont take it as that....take it as me being thankful the good Lord overlooked all the trouble I was causing and spared my life. I could easily....so VERY easily have been a statistic as so many people have turned out to be. Thanks for keeping Your eye on me during that time Lord.

Forgot to mention.....6-7 stitches in both the throat and forearm......scars are a constant reminder each time I look in the mirror how lucky I am to be alive. On and the arm pic was color changed in order to show the scar a bit better.....I am not really blue armed lol

Fives, heat,and "the itch"

Well after much begging and whining on my part, my good friend Becca tagged me. OK maybe the begging was for her not to share her newest black and white pic with the world but she did it anyway. Go to her blog and check her out......ain't she purty with her wild hair? haha just kidding sweets. Anyway here we go.
Five things in my wallet
Ummmm cash(not much...I am off work for awhile lol)
drivers license(old pic of when I had about a foot more hair)
debit card(should leave it at home more)
discount cards(why do we have to use these to get the special price when they are free in the first place?)
my daughters band pic
5 Things in the fridge
Brita pitcher full of high quality H2O(no I didnt just put this cause Becca did)
Bambi's mom made into sausage
various condiments
Monster Energy drinks
Pork chops thawing out
5 things in my closet
MANY car show Tshirts
6 pair of shoes
Jeans I seldom wear anymore (shorts most of the time)
A lot of ball caps
Several model cars I have never started to assemble
5 Things in my car (yukon)
Bootleg cd's I made from illegally downloading music
My cell phone I hope(not in the house anyway)
Big woofer box in the back
Cheap folding chair
Plenty of quarters for the car wash
Since I do not have many on my blogroll and most of them have done this already the other Becca as Becca said, is MIA right now I will only tag Robyn

------------------------------------
I did not do my walking until after midnight tonight and it seemed so nice and cool.....I checked and it was all of 87 when I started walking.......at 12:30ish.....down to 81 right now. I think the high yesterday made it to 105. Same forecast for next two days. Can you say stinky, sitcky, sweaty weather? Oh so right for those unfortunate souls confined to a HOT CAST.......my good RN friend Nessa asked me why they did not use a removable cast on me since its not a break .....I may be calling the orthopedic doctor's office in the morning and inquiring about one of these things. This thing is about to drive me NUTS. I feel like I have rubbed my skin off using the wire coat hanger already.........I am definitely calling the doctors office in the morning lol.

Quite warm here, 33 miles, and 25 signs you have grown up

Ok some other bloggers have been mentioning the heat lately. Here in this little town of Paris in the northeast corner of Texas at approximately 2:45 pm it is 102 with a heat index of 111. The forecast for tomorrow is 106 for the actual temperature. I think the highest official temperature I have ever seen here was 107 or so back in the severe heat wave of 1980. Nice weather for making this cast smell so much better right?
-------------------
I keep it marked on my calendar how many miles I walk each day....no reason really I just do. I did a quick tally for last week and I totalled 33 miles. I am planning on bettering that mark this week and hopefully average 5 miles a day. Just a little FYI and a useless bit of Bradinfo.
--------------------
My great friend Pam....(ok we tolerate each other and get along great as long as its through email.....j/k) who lives all of four doors to the south of me, sent me this email. In it was 25 signs to let you know you have grown up. Now growing up has nothing to do with age......right? Anyway without any further comment here is the list.

25 SIGNS YOU HAVE GROWN UP
1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
2. Sleeping in a twin bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6:00am is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up."
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
10. You're the one calling the police because those f*** kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonalds leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16. You take naps.
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3am would severely upset, rather than settle your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good shit."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going todrink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "Oh shit what the hell happened?"
Bonus:You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old ass. Then you share it with a bunch of old friends because you know they'll enjoy it and do the same.
----------------------------------------------
So how did you do on the test? Any grown ups here?
Ciao (had to use it or Becca would think I didn't still love her.....hope your summer cold is better friend )

Horoscope, tour de Paris, and waxing

Had to chuckle a bit when I saw todays horoscope after lastnight/early this mornings little meeting with K. Here it is "You're already moving on, but someone from your past wants another chance. Remind them that forgiving doesn't always mean forgetting -- or picking up where you two left off. You have greener pastures to explore." Now this is such nice news is it not? lol
------------------
The 22nd annual Tour de Paris bike race took place today. The 40k portion of the race goes right in front of my land and I had went out early this morning to water my new grass and to clay bar and wax my truck while the sprinkler ran. Got to see about I guess 100 or so riders go by on the 40k portion and could see the rest of the longer routes (70k and 100k) riders pass by on the highway east of me. Had a few people stop and actually chat for a minute....I think one was from the Dallas area and the other was from Houston. Very friendly ladies and I think I had almost talked into playing in the sprinkler but they said they must ride along....not long afterwards the sheriff drove by looking my way. I am sure it was a coincidence......right? I wish I had remembered the race was today and I could have gotten some good pics. Last I heard they were expecting anywhere from 600-800 riders. Its grown to be quite a large race and draws people from quite a few states. Hopefully next year when they have it I will have my residence established and we can sit out front shooting people with water guns and heckling them......just kidding!!!! (maybe)
-------------------------
Used the clay bar on the 95 Chevy and boy did it help it. The clay bar for those of you who haven't a clue pulls all the built in impurities out of the paint and leaves a remarkbly smooth finish to which the new coat of wax can be applied. It is simply a bar of clay that you use after spraying some detail spray on the paint and rub it back and forth to pull all sorts of things such as sap, bug splats, pretty much anything that is not supposed to be there. Then a nice coat of Nano wax from Eagle One and she is shining like a new penny.....except shes white........and a lot larger......and worth a bit more..........and now I don't want to sell her lol. Had a guy from work stop by and chat for a bit also. Had no idea he knew where my land was as he lives about 25 miles away but we had a good visit. He gave me a hard time about my cast and using it to get out of working overtime. This is our busy time of the year and believe me when I say I love this time of year.....when I can work and make the extra cash. Not loving it right now but hopefully within a few weeks I can get back to work and sop up some of that gravy money.

Ciao

Special poem for a VERY special person

When you called tonight I smiled
I knew to the bar you had been
And what answer did you expect
When you asked if I'd let you in.

You're always in my heart and mind
As so few seem to stay
No matter what I try to do
Your memory I can't chase away

You drunkenly stumbled up the walk
and entered my humble abode
Great big hug and soft kiss on the cheek
And once again my heart you have stole

As I hug you in the living room
Whispering in your ears
so softly kissing your neck
I long to scare away your fears.

I know you feel the love I have
for you it cannot be hidden
It is true love I know in my heart
It is no longer forbidden

The moments with you tonight fleeting
I will take whatever I can get
Not many has made me feel so alive
Or at least not many I've met yet

Such ample and soft cleavage
Caressing you while standing behind
kissing your ear lobe and nape of the neck
And wanting into you to grind.

I know your friends await you
I don't want them to think bad of us
You know I will do anything to,for, with you
and THAT subject I hope later to discuss.

My special K i bid you farewell tonight
Who knows when our paths cross again
Just know that my heart never changes
as I now lay down this pen.
-------------
I guess you can tell I had a short visit from a very special friend tonight. Although our time is always limited I thoroughly enjoy this beautiful young lady in every way imaginable. Shes been mentioned here before and I am sure you will hear of her again.....hopefully very soon. Love you Special K.

Brad

Letter to my cast

As promised I will share some original poems on fridays and here is this weeks offering. Sometimes I can be pretty serious with my writings but today I felt a bit jovial and decided to do something a bit lighter. Hope you enjoy! This weeks poem is in the form of a letter and without further adieu here is the masterpiece....publishers please form a line to the side and I will discuss all offers after the reading.
---------------------------

Dear cast,
Why do you make my arm itch so
was it something I did to you?
do you know how hard it is to dress
or simply tie my own shoes?

You have been with me for five days now
and on for another seventeen more
You know exactly how I feel about
you rotten stinking...well should I say more?

You make me look funny when I walk the track
you do get me free food from the drive thru
I talk to people i normally would not
as they ask me why I wear you.

I tell them you cause me more pain
than the tendons you are on me to protect
You make my sleep come in spurts
my whole life you find a way to affect.

I will love the day you come off me
i loathe you as you make the doctors rich
I will not miss you at all I promise
you sorry son of a........now would I curse in a poem?

Sincerely,
Brad

HNT number 9

Well I have a new use for the "gun" since I cannot use it as meant to be used. I decided to use it as a towel holder.

For the non regulars, I hurt my arm back on May 27th. Went to orthopedic doctor who first dignosed it as strained forearm muscles, second time a week later he dignosed it as ligament damage in the elbow and was not going to do an MRI until I kept asking him if he knew a thing about what he was doing basically. I had told him all along what I thought it was. Well he agrees to the MRI....first scheduled appointment, the MRI does not work properly and they cannot get pics. The second appointment a week later gets cancelled and I finally go in on Wednesday the 5th. I go in this past Monday to get the results and he says it is something he has never seen before....seems the tendons are not torn from the bone (as I had suggested( but merely damaged. I )being the smartass I am) say, "doc don't ya think maybe thats cause its had one month plus to heal some since I hurt it?" He glares at me, still not admitting I was right and saying nothing other than "its possible but unlikely". Anyway I, using the interent correctly identified the problem with my arm while Dr Schneider incorrectly diagnosed it TWICE before I , the internet specialist, finally convinced the "educated" doctor that maybe a MRI was needed. So basically I have pulled or stretched my tendonds that attach the bicep muscle to the bone and hopefully the cast will immobilize it enough that it can heal properly and not require surgery. Anyway the cast is on until July 31st or until I get tired of sitting around the house and get the butcher knife out and rid myself of it and go back to work. And in the fashion of my good friend Chelle, I had pics I did not use so I will use them too lol

Wondering what Half Nekkid Thursday is about? Click the little box on my sidebar and the "Os" will take you on a magical journey into HIS kigdom which IS HNT.

Stolen "meme"

Sandi and Chelle stole it from someone so after they got done I robbed their blog for this one (read as Brad is bored and has nothing creative to say)

Meme according to Wikipedia( I love that site)refers to a replicator of cultural information that one mind transmits (verbally or by demonstration) to another mind. Dawkins said, Examples of memes are tunes, ideas, catch-phrases, clothes fashions, ways of making pots or of building arches. Other examples include god(s), concepts, ideas, theories, opinions, beliefs, practices, habits, dances and moods which propagate within a culture. So I guess this is technically a meme of sorts.

Heat wave, backward steps, and horoscope for today

Well I guess this is our first real heat wave of the year. Its 1am as I start to type this (one-handed for an entirely new reason) and the temperature is STILL 86. I have not gotten used to this damned cast and sleep is kinda tricky. I seem to be fine sleeping a few hours here and there but then again what else do I have to do lol. I have walked an average of 6 miles a day since I got it put on Monday morning. Surely that will help my weight loss. I had set my July 31 goal at 211 pounds but had a bit of a gain after the keg/burnout/tresspassing on government land party a few weeks ago. Funny how 20 lbs or so of beer can hinder ones weight loss scheme....who'd a thunk it?

I am in the process of exploring the temporary housing idea until I can get my house built. A sort of step back in order to proceed forward. I looked at a small portable building Monday that was finished out like a cabin and set up was $12900 so not too bad and its something I can use later on as a game room/hobby shop. The other alternative I have looked into thus far is a travel trailer. With this idea, I would have something to take to the mountains....or to the lake.....but I got to thinking how much I have made fun of these people who "get away with all the conveniences of home" and have about talked myself out of this idea. The project for tomorrow is to get some bids on building a shop with enough room for an apartment along one side. This is the idea I like best and I feel like I can get one done for around $20k or less finished decently for a 30x40 size. The bathroom would always come in handy while working on my many projects and the bedroom would make a great storage area after the house is built. I did call one of the more reputable builders of this type shops last night and left a message so maybe I will hear something in the morning.
---------------------
Since I am bored I will share todays horoscope with you.....your lucky day right? Kinda ironic actually after a post I did last week but here it is according to Astrology.com (still a Baptist and still doing this for S&G's lol)

Nobody is an island -- it's an obvious statement to say that you need relationships to get you through life. Other people provide the acid to your base, and can often be a perfect sounding board for your ideas. But in order to make the deep connections you need for total honesty, you must develop trust. The only way to do this is to take a risk and let someone in. So reach out today -- lower your drawbridge and invite someone to cross your moat

Ok who the hell is yelling outside my castle walls now? Who goes there I say, identify thyself.

Gun update

Well I do not like to gloat too much when I am right because I tend to usually be right. This is one time I wish I would have been wrong. Seems my arm I hurt back on May 27th or so was indeed a bit more than just a strained forearm afterall. The MRI showed some ligament damage where the bicep attaches to the bone according to Dr. Schneider.....wait a minute doc....is that not what I said I thought it was about a month ago? Needless to say he did not want to admit he was wrong he just claimed he had never seen an arm do that before.....hmmm maybe an MRI the first time I went to him would mean the cast would be coming off about NOW instead of just going on almost 6 weeks after the injury. Yes I now have a cast on my left arm and will be off work for at least 3 weeks possibly 5-6.

I am just hoping now it didn't start healing wrong during the time I was being misdiagnosed and also thanking the Lord I basically threw a fit in order to get the MRI done instead of just up and starting PT right away. It is possible I might still have to have surgery even after the cast is removed but I am praying thats not going to be the case. Looks like I will have plenty of walking and reading time for the next month or so. Any book suggestions? I will finish my current reads of Koontz and King this week I am sure lol.

Brad...errrr I mean Henrique...not starting off too good with my new sexy Brazilian name am I?
My blog friend Chelle used this on her blog a few days ago and while not a big margarita drinker myself I had to see what mine would be......and like hers I think mine has much truth in it also.

You Are a Lime Margarita

Realistic and grounded, you have the energy to tackle any obstacle that stands in your way.
Hyper and driven, you despise lazy behavior of all kinds... especially lazy drunks too tired to dance!

Now I also have to try this one since I really need a new name.....right? So from now on please address me accordingly.....
Your Sexy Brazilian Name is:

Henrique Santos

Oh I am SOOOOOO sexy now huh? I guess I should be getting ready to head on out to Dr Schneiders office to get the results of last weeks MRI...I hope my new name does not require a lot of paper work. I will have to ask cutie Liz at the office if she thinks I look like a Henrique more than a Brad. I think I know her answer already. :D

Brad aka Henrique Santos (might be a good pen name for me)

Catnaps, HNTs, and hearts full of wine

I got off work Saturday morning with the intention of getting a quick nap in and getting up and getting some things done I have been putting off. Well the best laid plans of mice and men.....you know the rest. I awoke bright and early at 4 pm......not awake early as planned. I very seldom set an alarm. I can (don't ask how) usually awaken within a certain time frame without using one of these devices. Today I did not......actually I did awaken at 10ish long enough to look at the clock but rolled onto my back and drifted back to sleep. I did manage to get the lawn mower loaded up and got my new grass mowed. Its coming along nicely.....yes I did take the digicam and yes I did run out of daylight before I was able to get some pics of the progress. I also managed to finally get the oil changed in the truck. I have about reached the 75% sure-I-will-try-to-sell-it-mark so I might go ahead and list it for sale next week. I have too many projects I want to get started on and it would really make sense to go ahead and sell it. Surely some of these spoiled kids in town can talk their dads into buying this truck for them right? Also got the grass watered really well even though we did finally get about a 1 1/2" rain last week. It's so dry you cannot even tell it now.
------------------
I mentioned it at the end of my comments from the previous HNT but got to thinking....WTH goes back and re-reads MY old comments? So anyway I do think I will continue participating in HNT for now although I might be taking a short break. Main reason being I am not one to take a pic of a shadow that noone in their right mind can make hide nor hair of. So many of these get done and thats cool if thats what the person wants to do , but I will not. I feel like if I cannot do something that might make someone smile....or make them laugh..... or even make them compliment me (we all love compliments right?) then why should I waste MY time OR yours? So no pics by candlelight of the bottom of the tip of my toe will be used in this here blog. I am also planning on making Fridays my " Share A Poem" day......I do hope some of you will stop by and give your HONEST opinion. If it sucks...let me know. If it makes you laugh.....tell me. If it makes you cry.....I would love to hear about it. If it makes you want to shoot me.....I would really appreciate it if you just wing me a little instead of a direct hit to the heart. At any rate the number and address listed for me is no longer valid so please do not come drive by shooting. :D
______________
Since I did not post a poem this past Friday and its only Sunday morning now maybe I should go ahead and get caught up.....I did sleep all day so I won't be sleeping anytime soon.

Alone
As I sit here alone in my room
With nothing around me but remnants of you
Why do I feel so alive, so warm
As if a weight has been lifted, worries few.
Why did you leave me, I asked myself now
Was it so bad we could not work it out?
All I know is whats done is done
I cannot, I WILL not sit here and pout.
So many lives around me, waiting to find
the love I have bottled up, aging like wine
Problem with that is, the longer it sits
The cork gets harder and harder to lift.
As wine, do I want to use this with HER?
Will there be another more special one
to share it with, to serve it to
She may not even like it once its been opened.
Hating to take the chance it might not please
I leave the cork in, pushing deeper in
As it gets older the love gets more value
When will I ever share it again?
Love like wine can spoil with age
Wine on a shelf ,love in a heart
Unused they are like ornaments
once they are opened, they so soon depart.
Sharing of wine like sharing of love
can lead so many places, journeys
And another sad thing is often so true
They can both lead to riches for attorneys.
--------------------------------
You never know what a bottle of wine thats been sitting on a shelf for many years will be like once it is opened. The same goes for hearts. So many hearts go unused other than to pulse life through the arteries of their bodies. Then when it comes time to open them up and share them, we so often find that they have sat for so long that they are acrid or bitter. How does one approach a wine or a heart thats been on the shelf for a while? Either one is a gamble to be sure. Both can be so pleasant if consumed properly. I truly believe that wine as well as hearts have a lifespan. I sometimes think mine has been shelved for too long sometimes. Every once in a while someone comes along and gets a glimpse of what it might be hiding. Should I open the "bottle" and pour her a "glass"? Or should I let this "bottle" sit on the shelf until the RIGHT one comes along. What if the right one comes along too late and she finds the cork has been pulled? So many questions.....so few answers. Anyone care to share a glass ? I can go get the corkscrew........if its the heart you are after please bring your own corkscrew as only YOU can open IT.

Cold Sweat, skull bongs and a Special K

Found this interesting tidbit on a news site. Seems an ice cream shop owner in NC has made some ice cream up with jalapenos and hot sauce mixed in and calls it cold sweat. It started out as an attempt to cater to his hispanic customers. Seems they didn't care for it much but others started trying it. You have to sign a waiver before he will serve it to you. (Shouldn't this be a clue of some kind?) Among the first to try this DELICIOUS sounding concoction (sarcasm in case you wondered) was a 22 year old woodworker. He promptly went to the bathroom and vomited after one spoonful......yet came back for more and wants to break the record of 14 ounces eaten at one sitting. The things some people do for attention huh?

In other news from the serene area we call New England (Vermont to be exact) , seems a teenager Nick Buckalew pleaded guilty to intentionally moving a tombstone and disinterring and removing the ramins of a human corpse. Seems Mr Buckalew severed the head off of a corpse in order to dry and bleach the skull out in hopes of using it as a bong pipe. He also stole the eyeglasses and the bowtie from the scene. I guess he figured someone would notice them sitting there without a head to go on and might get suspicious maybe? He told friends he had done it cause he was bored. Bored? How about cutting your own head off next time Mr Buckalew? He was ONLY sentenced from 1-7 years in prison and has already served 14 months awaiting trial so this derelict could actually be walking the streets again very soon. I find some of these stories so hard to believe ...I guess its my country background or how I was raised. Pieces of trash like this need to be locked up for more than a year IMO. I am also a firm believer in NOT paroling idiots so soon. Some people believe it would lead to prison overcrowding......heres an idea....make prison be a PUNISHMENT again and not some trip to camp as so many "criminal rights activists" have turned it into. I dont have an exact figure but I am pretty sure its quite high the percentage of REPEAT offenders being sentenced only to be let loose to do whatever they want until they are sent to "camp" again. Keep their sorry asses in prison for the length of the sentencing anyway or dont give a length. Oh don't get me started on this topic lol.

Enough news now on to my life or a portion of it. A VERY good friend of mine made me proud a few days ago. This friend has always been the type to do what pleases others instead of whats best for her. She married her first husband because her parents wanted her to. I know this cause I talked to her parents not very long before the wedding in town one day .....I will not go into details other than to say they were not real happy with me for being interested in their daughter lol. Anyway she has always seem to do what others wanted. I believe she has been divorced from husband number two since 03 or so but he has continued to live in the house because she was too nice of a person to MAKE him get his lazy butt out and felt sorry for him. Well she is finally making him get on with his life so she can get on with hers. I cannot tell you how proud this made me when she told me. There are a very few people who I would literally do anything in my power for and this young lady is one of them. I have known her for many years and seen her grow from a naive, sexy young girl into a beautiful sexy lady. She has one of the greatest smiles I have ever seen and such a caring persona.I do hope she follows through with her plans. So many people have tried to "talk down " to her and make her feel dumb or useless before. I KNOW how smart she CAN be but she still sometimes lapses into what other people make her out to be......she is FAR from a dumb blonde trust me. And I am NOT just typing these words because she may be coming to the blog soon......I am typing these words cause this is one of my top 5 most favorite people in the world (ok maybe a top five tie if I include family lol) and as stated I would literally do ANYTHING for. She knows this and knows how I love her although not sure she knows how much sometimes. K....be strong my friend. This is the right thing for you to do. I promise you it WILL work out and I WILL be here for you in whatever capacity it is needed. Please pray for my friend K and ask for strength for her to make it over this hump and on with her life.

Also pray for the soul of the young man in Vermont.....God is never too far away from anyones life to make an impression ......I want this kid to suffer so badly for what he has done but I also know if he truly repents and asks God to come into his life he still has a chance. I beleive in punishment if it fits the crime. So many times the punishment is merely a slap on the wrist but hopefully this slap on the wrist this Mr Buckalew received will be a wake up call. Just as hopefully this will be a wakeup call for K where she can see that life is too much fun to live it on someone elses terms. Love ya K and looking forward to lunch. :)

Ciao

HNT #8 and hanging up the towel

I have been doing these HNT's for a couple months now and I think its time to hang up the towel......what ya say? Should I hang it up RIGHT now? Seriously I do believe its time for a short break in the action so for a week or two anyway you might just get boring old news....maybe time for some new poems I have not shared yet....maybe time to share the "Warrior and the RAT" story from my previous blogging attempt.......maybe just be lazy and do some "cut and pastes" At any rate this is my measly HNT offering for this week. Let me know if I should continue or if I should jump on the bandwagon and hang up the towel......maybe I could get some guest photographers........j/k lol

Wondering what HNT is about......check the icon on the sidebar and the Os will explain it for you.

Happy Half Nekkid Thursday to everyone!!!!

Happy 230th birthday America and GOD bless us

Man imagine blowing 230 candles out.....how better to celebrate Independence day on the Interweb than a good old fashioned fireworks display...............I do not know how to do that but what would be just as good would be a few gallons of homemade ice cream right...........sorry cannot deliver it to the three readers I think I have now.....how else can we celebrate?........how about we find Osama Bin Laden tie him to a couple of monster trucks and have them gouge on the gas pedals......a show stopper for sure........but we cannot find him. We can land on MARS and use a remote control and drive a little dune buggy with a camera around the Red Planet..........we can deliver awesome images of far away galaxies via the Hubble telescope..........blah blah blah right? Back to our celebration plans.........how about we get Angelina Jolie , Maura Tierney, and Stacey Dash to do a 3 hour special involving oil wrestling, pillow fighting, and some nekkid volleyball against some athletes such as Jennie Finch ,Maria Sharapova , and perhaps Summer Sanders .......ok now I am gonna have to pause for a few minutes before I can continue typing.........Ok I really need to get with Fox broadcasting and see if we can get this show on the air ASAP.....instant number one in the ratings for that I think.

I will simply say this. Please do not let us forget we are so very fortunate to live in the greatest country on Earth. I know there are bloggers from many nations that come and go on many different blogs. They have their right to their opinion and I respect that but I do not actually think there is even a shadow of doubt in so many of the worlds minds that this is INDEED the greatest. AND it IS One Nation Under GOD...no matter what these pansy asses might lead you to believe there are FAR more God fearing Christians who believe in God no matter whether you take His name out of our schools......whether you allow the Pledge of Allegiance to be said. No matter whether you try to ban prayer........God is THERE and will ALWAYS be there. He is the guiding force for so many of us. He created EVERYTHING ......can you look at a rainbow and tell me thats a result of a "big bang"...can you witness the miracle of birth and think its just something that happens? I myself DO believe in the big bang theory but mines a bit different....the big bang I believe in is like this. God put His mighty hand down as a stamp of approval and when it hit the world it shook it to life.....it was a big bang. How can one see the majestic national parks in this country and all the beauty worldwide and actually think its a result of a "big bang"? Please, do not let these IDIOTS continue to take God out of schools, out of our government buildings, and so many other small battlefields nationwide. If it weren't for HIM these things would not be possible anyway.....the very breath these fools take was provided by God. Keep God where he should be and thats at the pinnacle of everything.

GOD bless AMERICA!! and God bless everyone!!!

Brad

PS also lets just hope the networks pick up my idea also ;)
Ok first up this round is Chris. 1978 Camaro .....not sure on the engine but he was going to transplant a late model LT1 engine in it...not sure if he ever got that done. Chris is kinda like me sometimes when it comes to finishing a project.

This is one of my favorite friends in the whole wide world.....Well her husband is right up there as well of course. This is Dusty and with Dusty is lil Jamie (Jerry da host and Amy's daughter) Both of them getting their drink on.....arent they both so cute?
This is Dusty's three stooges...from left to right is Russell,Jerry, and myself....I think she was taking a pic of Jerry here what do you think? Oh the sign across the street on the fence warns anyone to keep out...unexploded shells possible. This is one of the areas we explored lol. This is young Josh. Josh I believe is 20 or 21 maybe. He got this car for his first ride and has done nothing but make it better ever since. 1967 Camaro (might be 68 but pretty sure its 67) with a junker motor in it for now while he builds a badass 434 ci engine.

This is Jamie (not Jerry and Amy's daughter) and his 1994 Z28. I went to high school with Jamie and he lost a leg about 8 years ago or so in a freak motorcycle accident. Thrown over the handlebars of a dirtbike in a friends back yard. Never know what might happen at anytime. Jamie has a very powerful LT1 under the hood of this beauty. One of only a few Mustangs to show up at this event. We are mainly Chevy powered around these parts but this is a very nice looking car.....not sure of the owner or any details on it though. Its blue and has a 5 speed is about all I know about this one.

Seems blogger has a limit of 5 pics so I will be back later with a few more. That will be all until further emails arrive from others who took pics. :D

Stay tuned as before!!

Brad

A few pics from Saturday

As promised Dusty emailed me the pics she took from Saturday. Not sure how many blogger will allow me to post but here goes....

First up is Jerry the host of this event. 1976 280 Z with a Chevy small block for power. Quick little car for sure. Jerry has owned this car since he got his drivers license ohhhh so many years ago....he will be 40 next year. :D

This is my 1996 Yukon. It has a few mods done to it but nothing major. Just a nice little daily driver....I told my friend Kelly when he brought this thing to town the first day that when he got ready to sell it I WOULD own it ....he did not believe me and listed it for sale before consulting me but luckily I saw the listing and snatched it up. I love black vehicles...until its time to clean them.

Heres a portion of the backyard filled with willing tire smoking participants rides. Most everyones vehicle you see pictured did a burnout and the side yard was also filled. Lots of smoke for sure

Here I am coming back the other way....no need in pulling back in the driveway without doing another one right?

And lastly for now since blogger will only allow me 5 photos here is Jerry's 280 disappearing in the smoke...
Will be doing a few more pics shortly.....stay tuned :))

Weekend wrapup...no pics yet

Well it sure feels hot here today for some reason and yes that small aluminum container of beer did get finished off along with about maybe 4 or 5 cases of beer others brought along. We feel sooooo accomplished. Had some great burnouts and Russ (in Dustys black 99 Z28) and myself in my black 96 Yukon did a couple burnouts together back to back so maybe ONE of the many cameras there got a few good pics I will share hopefully tomorrow. I never tried to get a count on how many showed up but I would say it was close to 75 or so. Jerry started things off with a burnout in his 1976 Datsun 280Z.....not powered by Datsun any longer. Small block Chevy powered and such a nice car. He is 39 and he has had it since high school. It was his first car. A few others got out there and did some before I decided to join in. First time I had really done one in the Yukon.....they said it pulls the smoke along behind it really nicely lol We had a guy show up on a Harley V Rod and did a couple of good ones. Then there was David. David brought a junky Ford Ranger out. He got it for free (mechanics lien) and had a grand total of $11.72 I think he said tied up in it (spark plugs). He did his first burnout and blew a tire. Pretty cool. He then proceeded to put on the spare. A little while later he did another burnout and thought he had blown the tire again....he did not. He had simply heard the tread coming loose and hitting the fender. He had already pulled back in and someone told him it was still holding air. He backs back out in the street and makes SURE the tire blew this time....then for good measure continues to spin the shredded tire and rim for a while before parking the truck. Had a couple of really cool burnouts done and there was a good time had by all.Now as Jerry had agreed to with his neighbors the last burnout ended at 9 PM. Thus we began our second stage of festivities.....federal trespassing.

Later on in the evening we loaded the keg on a small trailer filled with lawn chairs and hooked Jenni's four wheeler to it and ummmm entered some government land surrounding the residence. Did you ever wonder why people lock a gate when the hinges are mounted so that all a person has to do is lift straight up and VOILA.......better than keeping up with a key. As we were headed down the road loaded down with I guess maybe 12-15 people we hear something behind us.....looking back we see Ricky doing the drop and roll.....he wasnt on fire.....he had just fallen off the trailer. Once Shane heard it was only Ricky falling off the trailer so he punched it....Ricky can be a pain when he drinks sometimes. Not sure how many miles we covered with four wheeler and trailer but I am guesing it was in the 20 mile range. Jerry had a few problems with the brakes (it had none to speak of) and ran us into tree limbs a few times as well as some pretty hard ditches. This usually resulted in a loud "WOOOHOOOO " from Dusty.....she amuses easily. I wont go into some of the other adventures that took place but I will mention there is SOOO much stuff of interest around that I never knew about including a military graveyard that even has a few Nazi graves. Yes thats right ...Prisoners of War that died here maybe even within yards of where we were partying. The house next door has a huge concrete pad out back that used to be the gymnasium for this miltary camp. I have heard the population of said camp was around 40000 during its height....the cities population now is only 25000 or so. So the crowd slowly dwindles down after midnight-1 am......we are slowly dwindling ourselves lol. Hang out for a while and its down to just Jerry, myself and Dusty left awake I guess. So very much like the old Waco weekends on Memorial day.....soooo many times I would never sleep at all just keep on drinking throughout the night and the next day. Yes I am 36 and yes I do act immature sometimes by a lot of peoples opinion but I enjoy life and fun activities should NOT be a measure of maturity. I think death is a lifelong process. I think each day we "mature" is putting us that much closer to death. I want to LIVE my years I AM here and able to....do I ever have regrets for some things I have done? Sure we all do. I would much rather have regrets for something I did that something I didnt do. I know that might seem confusing to some. Some people always bring up the thing about "If you had one day to live, what would you do, who would you be with?....why not do that today?" Thats how I approach life. So much easier in my opinion. Seize the day indeed and Hold on to the nights. Anything one owns can be taken away at any time but one thing that CANNOT be taken away is memories. We might temporarily lose those memories but they are stored away deep in the brain. Make each day memorable and you should really have no REAL regrets.Works for me.!!!

Pics from our "event" to come tomorrow hopefully. Stay tuned.....and make some memories. ;)

Edit time....I forgot to add thanks to a Gem of a friend for listening to my goofy butt from 4 am until my phone died....poor girl. :P She truly is a GEM;)
