Getting my rocks off and spreading it around

This afternoon I should have two semi loads of rocks for my driveway unloaded and hopefully will be using my neighbors tractor to spread them out. Need to get that done before the rain comes in...maybe it will miss us again this time. If it does I should also be able to get the dirt hauled in for the shop pad and maybe even get the concrete poured within a week or less. I am pretty happy abut this to say the least. I go tomorrow morning to close on my loan.
-----------------
More vehicle news....there is ALWAYS vehicle news from me. I have decided to swap my 96 Yukon for two vehicles and some cash. First is a 1988 Chevy long bed 1/2 ton (I needed a work truck) and next is a 1987 WE4 Buick which is basically a Regal body that came with a turbocharged V6. The Buick has no engine or trans right now though but I have already located a couple possible engines to drop in. And lastly the cash is enough to payoff the Yukon which saves me a nice little sum each month. The Yukon is in the body shop right now getting the "dog damage" fixed it incurred back towards the end of last year. For the new readers I hit a rottweiler doing around 60 and it did about $1000 in damage.....did not even kill the dog believe it or not!! Anyway the only change I am making to it is going from a chrome front bumper to black bumper...same color as the body. I will be sure to post pics this weekend if they get done by then. I am also trading it to a friend so if he ever gets tired of it I can always buy it back haha
-----------------
Thanks go out to Breazy for inviting some of her friends over to my blog. I must admit I am not the best blogger in the world in keeping a regular update posted but that will change soon once I get this shop built and get back to normal sleeping patterns ...as normal as a third shift person can be right? Stop by Breazy's place and tell her I sent you and I think she is sending out home baked cookies to all of us who visit her blog....I might be incorrect with that info but ask her about it anyway. ;)

Fitness funnies and some good news (for me)

My good friend Pamela sent these (along with several more) to me and I just HAD to share....ok I did not HAVE to but I CHOSE TO ... Now I am trying to decide what she was trying to imply by sending these.
----------------------
I got a great phone call today....the bank called and wanted to schedule a closing date on my loan to build a shop. I meet with them to close on Wednesday of next week. I am going to be building a 30x50x12 shop fully insulated and then going to frame up a 1 bedroom, 1 bath "apartment" on one end of it to live in for a few years or so until I can build a house. Hopefully with good weather might even have the concrete done by the end of the week next week or possibly the first week of February. I am pretty excited about gtting started on this and begin to save at least some of the money I have been paying on rent here for the past few years. I will definitely be posting progress pics soon though.

I found a new friend on a little blogland outing the other day who also is in the process of building a house. I love to see houses being built so if you get time, stop by Breazy's and see her home being built. She also has some very cute HNT pics this week. Such an adorable child she was and she seems to be keeping with that theme even in adulthood.

Above freezing finally, horoscope and prayer request

Well it finally got above freezing here again yesterday.....yes this is Texas and it had been below freezing for almost a week.....even for the afternoon high temps. Anyway it reached a balmy 40 here this afternoon....and was sleeting at the same time. Sad when Austin Texas gets more snow than Sandy and Moose. It will be spring time soon enough though and all the car shows and racing starts back into full swing and Brad will be happy once again.
-------------------
I have not shared my horoscope lately and I found todays kind of amusing so here you go.

"Appreciate what's odd and unusual about yourself. It's those deviations that make you a unique and lovable individual. In fact, now is a great time to take one of the qualities and turn the volume up -- way up."

So now I am wondering which of my odd quirks I need to up the volume on....any ideas or suggestions?
-------------------
My good friend Christie was to have her tonsils removed today and will soon be having another procedure done (if she wants to tell you she can) so please say a short prayer for this lovely young lady to give her strength and healing. If you go back to middle September on my blog you can read about our date in her little town. I love small town America and this little burg in the southeast corner of the Indian territory of Oklahoma is typical of what I like. Hopefully I will be making it back up there real soon ;) If you have time stop by her myspace page and send her some love and a warm hug.

Behind the scenes of military strategy

I found a very rare behind the scenes look at our brilliant military strategist. He is a brilliant one. Also a couple more pics I found quite interesting for one reason or another.

Fava beans and a nice chianti

My good friend Robyn stole this so I in turn stole it from her. I looked at the choices and sadly I guessed correctly which character I would most likely match with. Leave me a comment to let me know what your match was.

You scored as Hannibal Lecter. You are Hannibal Lecter. You dont need to eat human flesh to live, but do so because it just taste good. You are very intelligent, and enjoy using it to your advantage to keep people guessing. You arent a killing machine, but when you do decide to let loose, watch out! Dinner is served, with some fava beans, and a nice chianti!

We lost two beauties....

I am sure most all who read MY blog have probably already seen it elsewhere but our fellow blogger pal Betchacantguesswho died in an automobile accident. Osbasso's page was the first place I read about it and you can go there to see what little information (and why) there is about this truly sad piece of news.
------------------
Another good friend of mine, Shala, also sent out a bulletin showing that actress Yvonne De Carlo passed away at the age of 84. Now many (or most) will say....."WHO?" Her greatest claim to fame I guess would have to be as the character we all knew as Lily Munster of the TV shows The Munsters. Other roles she played were as Moses wife in the 1956 epic "THe Ten Commandments" with her "big break coming in a movie titled "Salome, Where She Danced," in 1945.

Just as Betcha, Yvonne de Carlo was a beautiful lady. Please say a prayer for the families of these two as well as one for our troops around the world.

Mama's don't let you babies turn into gay cowboys...

My friend Kim sent this link in an email and I decided to share it with you ....don't you feel so privileged. No gay cowboys

----------------
I was checking email the other day and I found this little gem. The odd part I found is that it was written by a man yet appears to be aimed toward women.....dangerous move there Mr Jason Dorsey haha Anyway the site it comes from is called Beliefnet and its where I get a lot of my quotes and "feel good" stories from. It is quite a good read from time to time. And before you say a word there are NO loose ends on THIS end in regards to the other topic of this blog.... not even close!!! haha
----------------

Skeletons are hard to keep buried because they always have a bone to pick.

You have a loose end, if there's someone you don't want to see at the grocery store or movie theater. You have a loose end, if there's someone you don't want to run into on a first date or at work. You have a loose end, if there's someone you don't want to sit next to at a holiday dinner. Loose ends are distracting and have an amazing way of biting you in the butt at the worst times.

When loose ends are lurking in the back of your mind, they take your focus off doing what it takes to succeed. Loose ends bring you back to a place where you don't want or need to go. Loose ends must be tied up so they cannot run free to steal your confidence and concentration. Tying up loose ends allows you to totally focus on doing what you need to do to get where you want to go.

For example, if you borrowed money from someone and never paid her back, you have to always worry about running into her at the wrong time, like when you're already late for a date or out shopping with your mom. Instead of facing these embarrassing scenarios, have the courage to call your lender up and agree to repay her a little bit every week until you are square. You'll be amazed how a little effort on your part can salvage broken relationships and let you walk once again with your head held high.

How to Tie Up Your Loose Ends

1. Identify the five people with whom you have the most unresolved issues. These could be past relationships, employers, business partners, friends, family, or co-workers. These are people you avoid talking with and running into.

2. Contact each of these five loose ends. Invite each separately to a coffee shop or some other nonthreatening, nonalcohol environment. Tell each one that you want to apologize for allowing things to get crossways between you. Even if she was the one who hurt you, tell her you want to move on. Some may doubt your intentions, but tell them that you sincerely feel its time to clear the air. Ask those who agree to meet to write down any ways they think you wronged them, and you do the same. Tell them to bring this list to your get-together.

3. Show up on time and thank each for being forgiving enough to meet with you. Tell each person that you want to apologize for whatever you did that hurt him (even if you don't completely agree with his view of the situation). Be an adult here; finger pointing only tears people apart. Remember, your experience may be -- and most likely is -- totally different from his. Listen to each issue each of them raise and try to see it from their perspectives. Don't interrupt them when they are sharing. Seek to understand why they harbor bad feelings toward you. Apologize for each thing they think you did to wrong them. If you're nervous about apologizing, go ahead and practice in a mirror before each meeting.

4. At the end of the conversation, thank each once again for talking with you. It was a big show of faith in your character. Plus, she's helping you to move toward your dreams by tying up loose ends in your past. The next day, send her a handwritten card thanking her for reconnecting. You can then decide whether or not to stay in touch.

After you tie up your first loose end, you'll want to resolve them all. This is hard to explain until you have done it; but once you do, you'll know what I mean. I learned so much about myself by tying up my loose ends. Most of all, I think this process helped me become a more understanding and patient friend.

------------
I sometimes think I am overly understanding and patient .....ok maybe not so much on the patience part but definitely on the understanding side. Speak quietly amongst yourselves (in the comment section if you like)

Good morning and good news...

First off we had a blast yesterday wheeling near the small town of Honey Grove. Consumed a few beers and met some really nice people....and boy do they like to play on their four wheelers and four wheel drives. I am sure we will be back there soon.

Now for the good news and I know all of you will be as relieved as I was. The high court in Iraq has decided to drop all charges against Saddam.....something about the dead not being able to properly defend himself...amazing what these justice systems will do now days. Ok I am off to bed...just had to share that lil Yahoo news tidbit before bedtime haha.

Now, I love Angelina Jolie but....

Ok I admit it, she IS one of the most beautiful ladies on this planet. She has an aura about her that just glows. But when I saw this article online even I had to chuckle. Found this on Yahoo news . I have many pics of this woman. I have a pic of her on my desktop occasionally. This painting is for sale for $50000....anyone want to contribute.....it would look great hanging inside my shop when I get it built haha.

Oh and just in case you wondered about the pic that graces my computer desktop occasionally...
------------
About to head out with a friend in his Toyota 4Runner and do some offroading. Hopefully there will not be any need to get out in the cold wind and who knows , I might be trading for this 4Runner soon haha

Happy birthday Kim and Happy Becca

My beautiful friend Kim turns 34 today. This is Kim of the late night visit back last summer....don't feel like finding the link. Kim is one of my most special friends. She is an amazingly sexy young woman and one of the best moms any kid could ever have. (she has 3) Anyway I do not think she has read my blog but just wanted to send out this birthday greeting here in case she finds it ...they are at several places over the www haha.

Please stop by and congratulate my friend Becca and Jon on their engagement(I am almost certain thats the question she said yes to haha)

I love quotes and its been a LONG time since I shared any so heres a few with some (hopefully) witty comments to go along with them.
